They Weren't Burning Witches

The chemicals used in Wet Plate Collodion are extremely flammable. This property paired with the alternative processes ties to antiquity, led me down the path of researching with burnings. These women also suffered in the name of good morals and Christianity, like the modern women featured in my other series. I wanted to use this process to represent the horrors of religious trauma through the lens of witch burning.
